I am Dan Obert and I am a new County Manager Trainee for Illinois Farm Bureau. I interviewed for the position in the home office in Bloomington and began my training there. Since, I have continued to train in Will and McHenry Counties. Some activities I have worked on include planning an Ag Olympics, dairy promotion events, as well as county news publications.
I graduated from Illinois State University recently with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural communication and a minor in mass media. While at ISU I was involved with Alpha Phi Omega, a national co-ed service organization, Alpha Zeta, an honors agriculture organization and Agriculture Communicators of Tomorrow.
Throughout my time in college, I was a marketing and events intern at Freeport Downtown Development Foundation, a marketing and communication intern at Rockford Area Convention and Visitor’s Bureau and a social media analyst intern at Illinois Corn Growers Association.
I grew up in Orangeville on my family’s dairy and grain farm in Stephenson County.
I look forward to my time with Illinois Farm Bureau and getting to meet and work with the members of this organization!
