Agriculture in the Classroom (AITC) Presentations: these presentations are geared for students grades Kindergarten through High School. Programs include Ice Cream in a Bag, Pumpkin patch pie, Soybeans, Corn, Christmas Trees, Careers, Energy, Cotton, Endangered Species, Skulls, and many more.

Ag Expo: This event is held every other year (April / Even years) for third and fourth grade students. This event has a rich history dating back to 1988 and has reached over 40,000 students. Students are exposed to six minute presentations from 20 different agricultural booths. The booths include : swine, Christmas trees, dairy, soil and water conservation, beef cattle, chickens, embryology, worms, historical farming practices, corn and soybeans, fish farming, specialty crops, honey bees, horses, sheep, fiber arts, farm equipment, food safety and 4-H. Roughly 200 volunteers donate their time and talents for this four day event.

Summer Ag Institute: Is a three credit summer class. Our air conditioned motor coach will visit 18 farms and ag related sites such as the Board of Trade, International Vegetable Market, and O'Hare Customs Inspection Station. Staff specialists provide activities set to Common Core and Next Generation Standards.

Scholarships: The Foundation also provides financial support for High School Seniors pursuing continuing education in agriculture or agriculture-related fields. The applicant or the applicant's family must be members of the McHenry County Farm Bureau.

Internships: Each summer the McHenry County Farm Bureau offers College Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors an internship with the McHenry County Farm Bureau. Selected interns will gain valuable experiences in program planning, Ag in the Classroom, media, governmental affairs, and public relations.

McHenry County Farm Bureau and its Foundation provide the Ag in the Classroom program with financial and in-kind support. Demand for these programs continues to grow and we could use your assistance.

Your donations benefit Summer Ag Institute, AITC Newsletters, Ag Expo, FFA Acquaintance programs, agriculture scholarships, teacher grants, teacher workshops and in class presentations.
