Northern Illinois Cattlemen's Association (NICA) is a local non-profit organization working to protect, promote, and advance the beef cattle industry within our region. The association has 20-30 local members who assist with local events and promotions. NICA along with seven other beef organizations belong to the statewide association known as the Illinois Beef Association.
NICA members actively promote their product (beef) at a variety of special events and fairs. The Cattleman organization also assists McHenry County Farm Bureau with special programs such as Summer Agriculture Institute for teachers, Ag Expo for third and fourth grade students and a variety of other Ag in the Classroom programs. NICA also contributes funds to U of I Extension's 4-H program.
