My name is Brandon Bozarth and I am pleased to announce that I will be shadowing McHenry County Farm Bureau Manager Dan Volkers for the next three weeks.
I am from Fairfield, IL in Wayne County and the oldest of four children of Mike and Barbara Bozarth. Although indirectly; I grew up very much involved in agriculture, with both sets of grandparents being farmers and living next door to my uncle, Fred Blessing. He used to raise beef cattle and now operates your typical grain farm. He also happens to be the Wayne County Farm Bureau president.
I graduated from the University of Illinois in December with a B.S. in Agricultural Engineering and Agriscience and started with Illinois Farm Bureau on January 5. I spent six weeks in Bloomington learning about IFB and its family of companies. After that, I have shadowed in different counties across the state, including Wayne/White, Massac/Pulaski-Alexander, Washington/Perry, Cumberland, and Peoria.
I enjoy many aspects of the traditional country lifestyle, including baseball, basketball, fishing, hunting, playing guitar, wide-open spaces, home-cooked meals, and the family that I am very proud to call my own. Agriculture has played a crucial part in my development and I want to make sure that it does in the future as well.
