Manager Trainee Laura Sadecki Trains in McHenry County Farm Bureau for the month of May

Hi, I'm Laura Sadecki, county manager trainee for the Illinois Farm Bureau. For those that have stopped into the Farm Bureau office or seen manager Dan Volkers out and about this month of May, probably have already met me. For those who haven't I am learning the ropes in becoming an effective county manager, for when I have a county of my own. I have been in the training program since Jan. 10, 2011. My first three weeks of training started at the home office in Bloomington and trained in Livingston County for two weeks, then went back into the home office for another three weeks. Shortly after in April, I had the opportunity to train in Will County and now for the month of May I have been in McHenry County.

I grew up in Peotone in Will County where I raised American Quarter Horses and hay. I was involved in FFA, 4-H, and Illinois High School Rodeo. I graduated from Murray State University, in Murray, KY. At MSU, I received the Master of Science degree, in Agriculture and the Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Animal/Equine Science and Ag Business, where I was involved in Alpha Zeta Honors Fraternity, Ag Leadership Council, Horseman's Club Secretary, Equestrian Team- Captain for two years, and received Outstanding Senior in Equine Science.
Thanks to the excellent training and experience with Ag in the Classroom, interviewing local farmers on planting updates, FFA Acquaintance Day programs and social media, I am more confident and looking forward to becoming an outstanding county Farm Bureau manager. I wish to make a difference in agriculture for the good of the FB members.
