McHenry County Farm Bureau welcomes Leah Wilkening as this year's summer intern. Wilkening's major is agriculture education with a focus on leadership; she is currently attending the University of Illinois. Leah grew up on a family farm in the Harvard area and her parents are Dennis and Laurie.
Throughout the summer, Wilkening will be working with Farm Bureau Manager Dan Volkers and Ag in the Classroom Coordinator Larry Reinhard. She will be assisting with Farm Bureau events, such as Summer Ag Institute for teachers, Dairy Promotion on the Woodstock Square, Tractor Trek and the McHenry County Fair. Her other responsibilities include assisting with media relations, attending Farm Bureau committee meetings and activities and working with elected officials on agriculture-related issues.
