Women’s Health Registry offered

The Institute for Women's Health Research at Northwestern University is the primary sponsor of the registry. The Registry is database containing answers to a confidential health survey. The questions asked are about symptoms, conditions, diseases, family history of disease, environmental exposures, stress and demographic information.

Why is a Registry necessary? As of 2007, Illinois ranked 33rd in women's health. We can change this ranking by having a pool of women interested in participating in research, which will encourage more researchers to design studies that specifically examine sex and gender differences in health and disease.

Why should a woman enroll? To gain access to groundbreaking research studies and clinical trials. To help researchers learn more about the factors that affect women's health so they can better access and tailor new treatments. To help improve prevention and treatment of certain diseases and health conditions. To receive information for Northwestern's periodic newsletter.
