Renee Zbynski of Harvard has been named to the position of summer intern for McHenry County Farm Bureau. Renee was the summer intern last summer as well. She is a Junior at Iowa State University, studying Agriculture Communications and Speech.
Renee is a member of Kappa Delta Sorority and Collegiate 4-H. This year at Iowa State, she helped plan a spaghetti dinner that raised more than $3,000 for the prevention of Child Abuse, and organized a campus-wide prank where about 400 people froze in place for five minutes, right before finals week. After graduating, she hopes to do public relations for an agricultural company and volunteer as a motivational speaker for youth and teen groups.
Throughout the summer, Zbynski will be working with Farm Bureau Manager Dan Volkers and Ag in the Classroom Coordinator Larry Reinhard. She will be assisting with Farm Bureau events, such as Summer Ag Institute for Teachers, Dairy Promotion on the Woodstock Square, Tractor Trek and the McHenry County Fair. Her other responsibilities include assisting with media relations, attending Farm Bureau committee meetings and activities and working with elected officials on agriculture-related issues.
