Fast fix-its keep the farm going

Our 7-year-old son emerged from his room wearing a "farm play" shirt in preparation for school. I advised that this old Chicago Bears jersey had lost eligibility in the "good" category of clothing when one of its loose-fitting sleeves completely split from elbow to armpit.
I would like to start off by saying that I am thrilled to be a member of the Farm Bureau staff. As the Ag in the Classroom coordinator, I am excited to share my passion for agriculture with others in our community. For the past five years, I was a Spanish teacher at Marian Central Catholic High School in Woodstock, Illinois and I loved my job but I decided to stay home with my family this year and help out more on our family farm. My husband David and I have two young boys, Clark (4) and Jack (19 months).
Spring Grove, January 2015: The Spring Grove Fire Protection District recently took delivery of a Grain Bin Rescue Tube. The device becomes the third in McHenry County, providing protection to the north east section, as well as to the east into northern Lake County. Other tubes are located in Harvard and Marengo. Having multiple tubes will aid in response times and rescues involving multiple entrapments.
McHenry County Farm Bureau Agricultural Education Foundation is offering a $1,000 scholarship. The scholarship is available for high school seniors pursuing continuing education in agriculture or agriculture-related fields. The applicant or the applicant's family must be a member of the McHenry County Farm Bureau to qualify. Additional scholarships may be awarded if funds are available at the time of judging.
All scholarship applications need to be received by March 20, 2015.

Hello, McHenry County Farm Bureau members. For some of you this will be a reintroduction and for others, this will be all new. My name is Victoria Goad and I was recently hired by the Illinois Farm Bureau as a County Farm Bureau Manager trainee. This is my second week on the job and I am excited to return to McHenry County, not only because I grew up in McHenry County but because the McHenry County Farm Bureau is near and dear to my heart. Just four short years ago I had the honor of serving as the McHenry County Farm Bureau Intern. During that time I was able to assist with Agriculture in the Classroom, work on the McFarmer Blog, and spark my interest in all of the Farm Bureau.
