Hey ya'll! My name is Jordan Peterson, and I am so excited to have received the honor of being the 2016 intern for the McHenry County Farm Bureau. I am thrilled to be able to gain more experience in the agriculture field, and take part in the many activities the Farm Bureau is involved with throughout the summer. I am the daughter of Mary and Bill Peterson, and the little sister to Nikki and Kyle Peterson. My family and I live on a crop farm in Harvard, IL. When I am not on the farm caring for my 4-H swine, and poultry, or caring for my horses and mini donkeys, I work as a sandwich artist for the Walworth Subway. Along with my passion for agriculture, I enjoy running and baking.
I have just graduated from Harvard High School, and will be attending the University of Tennessee in Knoxville this coming fall. I plan on majoring in Agriculture Business with a minor in Animal Science. Throughout my high school career I participated in many clubs and sports teams, such as; FFA, 4-H, National Honor Society, Interact Club, Link Crew, Student Council, Cross Country, Volleyball, Track, Basketball, Soccer and held leadership positions. In college I plan to continue being involved by joining collegiate FFA and 4-H, as well as pledging into a sorority.
My goals going into this internship is to obtain all the information possible in hopes to help me develop the skills to better promote agriculture. I want to inform the public on the importance of agriculture, in order to help agriculture continue to evolve and become more efficient. In the future my dream is to be an agriculture advocate to push the movement forward. I am grateful to be granted this opportunity; allowing me to learn so much information about agriculture, and work with some wonderful people.
