De-icing tips from CONSERV

Even though we’ve had a mild winter, the cold weather has an impact on us all, whether living in urban or rural areas. Icy walk ways and roads are a part of our daily lives. Yet, in recent weeks cold weather hasn’t necessarily been the issue, but the rain has raised concerns over safety on sidewalks and roads.

Agricultural internship available

McHenry County Farm Bureau is excited to once again offer an agriculture related summer internship.

The selected intern will gain valuable experiences in program planning, Ag in the Classroom, media, governmental affairs and public relations. The selected individual will receive valuable work experience, funds to further their education and the opportunity to receive college credit.

The internship is open to McHenry County residents who will be a sophomore, junior or senior at a college or university this fall. Preference is given to applicants who have a farm background and/or studying agriculture related field.

Start Seeing Farmers Shirt Offer

McHenry County Farm Bureau’s Young Leaders Committee has re-opened their “Start Seeing Farmers” T-Shirt fundraiser. The shirt features the Young Leader’s brand new logo and a tractor with an SMV sign. The writing on the back of the shirt reads “Caution, Slow Down, Share The Road”.  Youth shirts are $12 and adults are $15. Customized name can be added to the back of the shirt for an additional fee.
