Scholarship offered

McHenry County Farm Bureau Agricultural Education Foundation is offering a $1,000 scholarship. The scholarship is available for high school seniors perusing continuing education in agriculture, home economics, or any agriculture related field. The applicant or the applicant's family must be a member of the McHenry County Farm Bureau to qualify.

All scholarship applications need to be received by April 15.

McHenry County Farm Bureau was recognized at Illinois Farm Bureau’s Annual Meeting.

McHenry County Farm Bureau President, Bruce Meier, accepts a recognition plaque awarded to McHenry County Farm Bureau for its achievements during the 2010-11 program year. The award was presented during Illinois Farm Bureau's Annual Meeting and calls attention to the comprehensive nature of county Farm Bureau programs.

AGRICULTURAL CONSERVATION EASEMENT AND FARMLAND PROTECTION COMMISSION SEEKS APPLICANTS

The McHenry County Board is accepting applications from individuals interested in appointment to the McHENRY COUNTY AGRICULTURAL CONSERVATION EASEMENT AND FARMLAND PROTECTION COMMISSION. Three (3) vacant positions are available for three (3) year terms to expire on January 1, 2015. Incumbents may apply for reappointment. A background and/or experience in agriculture, finance, conservation or planning are desirable.
