2009 Tractor Trek

McHenry County Farm Bureau and McHenry County Antique Farm Equipment Association co-sponsored their seventh annual "Tractor Trek" on Saturday, July 18.

Eighty participants had the opportunity to share the day with other antique tractor enthusiast as they traveled through the North-Western part of McHenry County and Boone County.  Proceeds raised from this event are donated to the Agriculture in the Classroom program.    

A special thank you to the drivers, volunteers, Country Clovers 4-H and our host: Edward's Apple Orchard, The Paulson Family, Candlewick Lake Association & Milky Way Park (Harvard). Thank you support team: Buck Brothers (mechanic and service truck), Jason Madaus (truck & trailer), Conserv FS (fuel) and Boone County Sheriff's Auxiliary.

Two scholarships awarded

McHenry County Farm Bureau Agriculture Education Foundation awarded two scholarships to local students. The $1,000 scholarships applied to continuing education in agriculture, home economics, or any agriculture related field. The applicant or the applicant's family had to be a member of the McHenry County Farm Bureau to qualify.
