A gift that keeps giving

McHenry County Farm Bureau and its Foundation provide the Ag in the Classroom program with financial and in-kind support. But, we have reached a point where demand of our programs and services has out paced our revenue stream.

Just eight years ago our teacher's newsletter distribution was 750, today that number exceeds 2,500. Demand for our programs and services have gone up dramatically as well. Last year, we reached 11,926 students and utilized 150 volunteers. In order to meet this growing demand our Board of Directors has asked for your help.

Leaves for Ag. Land Application

The Open Burning of Landscape Waste Ordinance became effective April 1, 2008. Residents who may have been able to burn leaves in the past, may no longer be able to do so. Due to this, landscape waste haulers and lawn service companies will be picking up additional landscape waste removal contracts for the fall. If any area farmers are interested in receiving leaves for agricultural land application, please call the McHenry County Department of Health, Environmental Division at 815.334.4587. We will try to link you with a landscape waste hauler in your area.
