Our Summer Ag. Institute (SAI) for teachers made 11 farm stops and visited agriculture related sites such as the Board of Trade, International Vegetable Market, and O'Hare USDA Inspection Station. SAI is a five day course that provides master degree credits; the course is sponsored by McHenry County Farm Bureau and MCC.
The event was held June 28 and was sponsored by The McHenry Landmark Commission. McHenry County Farm Bureau was a supporting sponsor and the Women's Committee assisted with the outdoor event. 2,100 people attended.

The Altens have dedicated their lives to the agriculture industry. The Altens have also dedicated countless hours to volunteer positions within the agriculture industry.
McHenry County Farm Bureau Agriculture Education Foundation awarded two scholarships to local students. The $1,000 scholarships applied to continuing education in agriculture, home economics, or any agriculture related field. The applicant or the applicant's family had to be a member of the McHenry County Farm Bureau to qualify.
More than 500 FFA students and guests from 79 Illinois counties attended the 2009 Illinois Farm Bureau® & Affiliates Youth Conference, April 6-7 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Springfield.
